Sonia Lena: Physiotherapist
Sonia Lena is a registered Physiotherapist and is in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Sonia graduated with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Kings College London, UK after pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at York University.
Sonia decided to pursue a career in Physiotherapy after being a patient for many years following knee surgery. She began her work experience as a volunteer and later as a Physiotherapy Assistant in the same Orthopaedic clinic where she was a patient. During this time she was also coaching youth soccer as part of a local club's technical staff. This is where Sonia developed her passion for working with the pediatric population.
Sonia completed her two years Masters in London, England and therefore had a variety of international clinical experience. As part of her experience she was able to practice with the Neuromuscular Pediatric population at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Upon her return to Canada, Sonia continued her practice as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapist and additionally continued to pursue a career in Pediatric Physiotherapy with Just 4 Kids Physio in 2018.
Sonia is a passionate Physiotherapist and she enjoys all aspects of her career. This is reflected in her therapy sessions where she creates a warm and inviting environment for her patients as she delivers effective treatment. Sonia's approach to Physiotherapy is primarily centered on current evidence-based treatments, and also include manual techniques, education and especially active play!
In her spare time, Sonia enjoys keeping active by jogging in her neighborhood (run, rain, and snow!) and working out at her local gym. Her interests revolve around sports, soccer in particular, and family and friends. As her own therapy, she spends time painting pictures of the places she has travelled and she hopes to expand her collection!
